Grand Rapids Transport began operations in Jenison, Michigan in 1986 as Sunrise Transportation. In 1990, the company reorganized and became Grand Rapids Transport, Inc. Since that time, Grand Rapids Transport has grown from a small company with five power units and several trailers, to a fleet of over 50 power units and 150 trailers running in excess of six million miles per year.

Grand Rapids Transport has 48 State Common Carrier Authority, Contract Authority, Canadian Authority and Brokerage Authority. The Company serves the West Coast, the East Coast and the Southern states, as well as Ontario, Canada, providing on time service to its customers, utilizing both 53-foot Air Ride Straight Frame Dry Vans and high volume 53-foot Drop Deck Vans. Grand Rapids Transport is staffed with a group of experienced, dedicated employees committed to customer service and an aggressive maintenance program providing safe, reliable equipment.
